While the civil society and NGOs are demanding speedy action against the accused principal of St George HS school in the molestation and thrashing case involving minors.

Meghalaya police on Monday informed that the accused has not been arrested as he is cooperating with the investigation.

The investigation officer had informed on Sunday that the principal, Simon Joseph was arrested and the police recorded his statement.

Superintendent of police, Davis Marak said that a case has been registered, but he has not been arrested as of yet as he is cooperating well with the police and a section 41E notice has also been issued to him as all sections against him are below seven years.

This, however is not going very well with the CSWO who has already apprised the state women and children commission.

Meanwhile, the chairperson of the State Commission for protection of child right, Meena Kharkongor reacting on the report said that the commission is taking the issue very seriously and will follow it up.

Kharkongor also said that if the accusation is true, it is totally condemnable and unfortunate.
