Special meet held by tourism department ahead of Ambubachi Mela

The yearly Ambubachi Mela is all set to be held at the holy shrine of Kamakhya atop Guwahati’s Nilachal Hill from June 22 onwards.

Today, a special meet was convened by tourism minister Chandan Brahma and tourism department chief Jayanta Malla Baruah with other top officials of the department.

Another meeting is scheduled for May 31 which will also involve Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal over the preparations for the yearly religious fair.

Tourism minister Brahma stated that special preparations would be taken up so that no issues are faced by the scores of devotees who would turn up for the Mela.
