Former AGP president Prafulla Kumar Mahanta has reiterated his party’s stand to oppose the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill tooth and nail.

Significantly, Mahanta stated that he had spoken to Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina who assured that Hindus are absolutely safe in the country.

Mahanta also took the attack to the Congress by pointing out that it was the oldest party in the country which had taken the bill to the Rajya Sabha back in 2015.

He also noted that the Congress was a divided house as far as Citizenship (Amendment) Bill is concerned. Mahanta added that it was the Congress which had opposed the Assam movement.
