Modi, Hasina meet at Visva-Bharati; Bangladesh makes stand clear on Rohingyas

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is hosting his Bangladesh counterpart Sheikh Hasina at Shantiniketan today.
PM Modi is in Shantiniketan to address the convocation of the Visva-Bharati University. Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina is the special invitee to the convocation. Following the convocation the two leaders are expected to hold discussions on various issues.
While Bangladesh is expected to raise the Teesta-water sharing and Rohingya issues, it will be interesting to see if Prime Minister Modi raises the issue of illegal Bangladeshis in Northeast besides the neighboring country’s role post the NRC update process.
The two leaders are expected to engage discussions on the sidelines of the official programmes.
