Two Assam youth have set an example in the ongoing protest against the proposed Citizenship (Amendment) Bill. Ganesh Ravi Das and Mrigen Ravi Das undertook a 24 day journey to travel from Golaghat to the nation’s capital New Delhi to protest against the controversial bill.

The youths achieved this feat while travelling on their bicycles all the way. Both the young men arrived at Delhi yesterday where they were accorded a warm welcome at the Assam Bhavan. State ministers Atul Bora and Keshav Mahanta also felicitated the youths.

Apart from registering their protest against the Citizenship Bill, the youths will also submit a memorandum to the Prime Minister regarding the prevention of rhino deaths in the state and construction of a bridge to connect the river island of Majuli with Assam’s mainland.
