Concealed arms, ammunition recovered in Manipur

Combined team of state police commando unit of Thoubal district and Assam Rifles on Tuesday recovered 2 AK series rifles along with magazines from Langmeidong area under Kakching police station

Combined team of state police commando unit of Thoubal district and Assam Rifles on Tuesday recovered 2 AK series rifles along with magazines from Langmeidong area under Kakching police station in Manipur.

The AK series rifles were concealed under thick grass on the periphery of the Pumlen Lake. Acting on specific inputs, the combined team launched a search operation and unearthed the 2 AK series rifles along with 2 magazines filled with live ammunition.

No arrest has been made so far and the militant group which is involved behind the concealing of such sophisticated weapons is yet to be ascertained.
