The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a case into the Nagaland High Court construction scam.

The development comes after the Gauhati High Court on May 3 had asked the Central Bureau of Investigation to probe an alleged scam in the construction of the Nagaland High Court building in Kohima since 2007 and submit a report within three months.

According to the Nagaland Public Rights Awareness and Action Forum, the apex investigating agency has also asked the forum leaders to maintain regular touch with it and share information regarding the matter to which the forum have agreed.

The CBI officials also agreed to examine the matters brought up by the forum in its representation and assured to take action.

The basic structure of the site is yet to be completed, but the Nagaland government allegedly withdrew ₹44.24 crore against electrification and water supply for the project site besides another ₹22.42 crore for construction of bungalows for the judges, area for which has not been earmarked.
