The Congress in Meghalaya is protesting against the Karnataka Governor’s alleged highhandedness in inviting the BJP for the swearing-in in Karnataka.

Congress legislator Ampareen Lyngdoh said that the party will wait till the Ampati by-election gets over before taking a call on staking claim to form the government in the State.

The Congress legislator added that the state congress will await the return of the CLP leader Mukul Sangma besides the results of by-election to take a final call on staking claim.

The Congress had emerged as the single largest party in Meghalaya but was not invited by the governor to prove its majority.
