Amid much furore and protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has once again reiterated that his Government will safeguard the identity of indigenous people of Assam.
This comment of Chief Minister Sonowal comes at a time when the entire state of Assam is on a boil over the proposed Bill.
Speaking to media persons after an event at Margherita in Dibrugarh, the Assam chief minister, who has drawn much flak over the row surrounding the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill reassured that his government will do everything possible to safeguard the interest of the people of Assam.
