Longding police of Arunachal Pradesh rounded up nearly 87 people who did not possess Inner Line Permits during an intensive Inner Line Permit checking drive carried out at Londing on Saturday.
The door-to-door Inner Line Permit checking was carried out by a police team of 60 personnel led by the Officer in Charge of Longding Police Station under the close supervision of the DC and SP Longding.
Deputy Commissioner of Londing VS Malik has issued a warning to all contractors for refraining from employing labourers who do not have Inner Line Permits. The administration has been put on high alert in view of the warnings and inputs received regarding influx of illegal migrants from Assam.
It has been reported that illegal migrants in Assam are moving towards the surrounding States due to the stringent NRC checking. SP Longding Rohit Meena stated that the police personnel are fully geared to tackle the issue. It may be mentioned that all border gates leading to Longding have been on high alert.
