On the occasion of the death anniversary of Late. Prof. Ashraf Ali, a memorial meeting was organised at ITA, Machkowa, where a souvenir of Prof. Ali was also released in the presence of Dr. Hiren Gohain, and chief guest-Ex Vice Chancellor of Guwahati University Dr. Nirmal Kumar Chaudhury, who were also once students of Late. Prof Ashraf Ali.

Late Prof. Ashraf Ali, had earlier served as a Principal of Cotton College Guwahati and Fazal Ali College, Mokokchung Nagaland, he also served as Inspector of School in Dibrugarh district and later retired as the DPI of Assam in 1981. Prof. Ali was known and respected for his noble contributions to the society.
