Authorities in Myanmar have stopped vehicular traffic coming into the country from the Indian side in the border town of Moreh in Manipur.

This follows after a blast at Malnoi in Manipur’s Tengnoupal on May 4. Sources have told Northeast Live that the halt to cross border vehicular movement is a temporary security measure adopted by the authorities in Manipur.

It is otherwise a normal practice for Indian vehicles to cross into the nearest Myanmar town of Namphalong and then on to Tamu, a commercial hub.
