One person was trampled to death by a herd of wild jumbos at Garghuli of Garchuk in Guwahati late Monday night.

Panic still grips the area after a strong herd of wild jumbos strayed into human habitat in the area finally going on a rampage destroying several houses.

Fumed over forest department’s inaction the locals at one point of time took to attack the police who had arrived there after the incident.
