Tax collection dips 15-20% in state : Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, on Thursday, during his inaugural speech at the 15th Finance Commission informed that there has been 15-20% drop in collection month-on-month basis.
“The experience of GST till now has not been encouraging. There is an estimated 15-20 per cent loss when collections are compared with expected revenue on month to month basis”, he said.
Further appealing the Commission to consider this report so that the state does not suffer, he hoped that the situation improves in future with introduction of e-way bill among others.
