As the date for publication of the final NRC of June 30 is drawing near, two important meetings over NRC were held between Central officials and student leaders today. Both the meetings were held at the office of the Special branch of Assam Police at Kahilipara in Guwahati.
The first meeting was held between the Registrar General of India, the Union Joint Home Secretary and the Director General of the special branch of Assam Police on one hand and the AASU leaders on the other.
The Central officials and DGP also held a similar meeting with AMSU leaders later on. Both the key meetings hold significance as they are being held prior to the publication of the final NRC slated on June 30.
