Director and Producer of Village Rockstars Rima Das received a rousing felicitation in Guwahati on Tuesday. Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal felicitated Rima Das during a programme held at the Kalakshetra for her feat.
Village Rockstars became the first Assamese film to win the Golden Lotus award or the Swarna Kamal award in 30 years. The film also won a host of other awards at the 65th National Film Awards this year.
The film has bagged awards for Best Feature Film of 2017, Best Location Sound Recording, Best Child actor and for best Editing.
The entire cast of the film was also felicitated during the event which was organized by the Assam State Film (Finance and Development) Corporation limited.
While Rima Das received a cheque of Rs 2 lakh from the CM, the child artistes of the film received Rs 20,000 each.
Speaking to NorthEast Live, the Village Rockstar director and producer expressed her happiness at the recognition and took pride in putting Assam on the global map through ‘Village Rockstars’.
