The future of the students of the Rajiv Gandhi Central University of Arunachal Pradesh seems to be at stake with the university functioning without a regular Vice Chancellor for over 5 months.

Despite repeated requests made by the students, the university is yet to get a full-fledged VC.

On January 2018, three candidates were shortlisted for the post of the Vice Chancellor and their names sent to the Ministry of Human Resources for approval.

Professor Tamo Mibang who is now the Vice Chancellor in-charge of the University has completed his tenure on 17th December, 2017.

Meanwhile, Rajiv Gandhi University Students Union President Giogi Aja Taja said that without the presence of a regular Vice Chancellor, a lot of the administrative and other decisions remain pending.

Also Professor Nani Bath while reacting on the absence of a regular vice chancellor in the campus said that there has been no indication of a new Vice Chancellor over the past 5 months.
