Just days after the centre passed the ordinance paving way for death penalty to those found guilty of raping minors, 2 persons were arrested in Margherita for raping a 14 year old minor girl.

The girl was reportedly raped by the two accused men on April 16 after inducing her during a Bihu function at Margherita Central Field.

The police arrested the duo from their respective residences after a complaint was lodged by the girl’s family members at Margherita police station on Monday evening.

Notably this is the third incident of rape against minors in Margherita during the past one week.
