Demanding immediate regularization of services, hundreds of SPOs have once again threatened to jump from the Saraighat bridge and commit suicide.
It may be mentioned that the SPOs have been forced to take this decision as the authorities concerned have not been taking any decision to regularize their services since long.
In the meantime, a large number of police and para-military personnel have been requisitioned at the protesting site and a tense situation arose between the two groups as the security personnel protestors tried to prevent the SPOs from carrying out their protests. Owing to the situation vehicles got stranded on both sides of the Saraighat bridge.
