Members of various NGOs, pressure groups and civil societies in Meghalaya on Friday took to the streets to express their condemnation and concern over the increasing number of violence against women and children in the country.
The protesters also demanded for a safer environment for women and children. Wearing black and pinning up black ribbons people lighted candles and displayed placards at the Lower Lachumiere, tri-junction and Khyndailad, Police Bazaar point.
