Manipur is all geared up to host the annual international rock festival, the ShiRockfest and people of the region are in for a special treat this year. Two big international rock bands are the highlights of this year’s ShiRockFest.

Music lovers from Northeast will witness the Legendary American heavy metal rock band Queensryche at the Rock festival this month.

Every year the Tourism Department of the Government of Manipur holds the ShiRockfest, an international rock music festival aimed at promoting to conserve the endangered state flower, Shirui Lily, found exclusively at the peak of Shirui hills in Ukhrul, Manipur.

The highlight of the fest this year will be the performance of the three-time Grammy nominated American rock band Queensryche, who are on their maiden visit to the country.

They were one of the leading bands during 80s and 90s with millions of fans worldwide. According to reports, the legendary band is scheduled to perform on the closing day of the ShiRockfest for around 80 minutes.

Queensryche will also be joined by their fellow American rock band Steelheart at the very same event. According to reports, Steelheart will open the music festival on April 24.

The music festival is scheduled to be held from April 22 to 28 at Bakshi Ground in Ukhrul and is expected to fall a crowd of over 40,000 per day.

With two big international bands coming over to Manipur and performing in the fest this year, this will certainly be a dream come true for the music enthusiasts of the Northeast.
