Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has grabbed attention with his claim that internet and satellite technologies are not something new but existed since the era of the Mahabharata.

Speaking at a Regional Workshop on Computerization and Reforms at Pragna Bhawan in Agartala, Chief Minister Biplab Deb said that the internet was invented by India long time back, although the United States and European Nations may claim that it is their invention.

He further said, even today India is much ahead in internet and software technology. The Tripura Chief Minister viewed that since the era of the Mahabharata, India was top in technology but somehow lost its position in-between.
