In a bid to boost development in the Northeast, the first meeting of the newly constituted NITI Forum for Northeast was held in Tripura’s capital Agartala.
The meeting was chaired by DoNER Minister Jitendra Singh. Chief Ministers of the Northeastern States along with NITI Aayog Vice-Chairman Rajeev Kumar were also present in the meeting.
Stategies to improve road, railway and air connectivity in the region, development of hydroelectric power, agriculture and allied sectors, including organic farming, water management and industrial development are some of the key issues that are most likely to be the main focus of the meeting.
