10 injured during violent clash between two groups in Silchar

Sensation has gripped in Silchar town after 10 people were injured following a violent clash between two groups.

Unidentified miscreants went on a rampage vandalising several houses forcing the police to resort to baton charge. However, the irate mob also attacked the police personnel who were rushed in to control the situation at Kalibari char in Silchar.

A team of police and para-military personnel led by District SP Rakesh Roushan managed to bring the situation under control despite being pelted with stones.

Condition of 10 persons including three women in the incident are stated to be critical followed by injury and are undergoing treatment at the Silchar Medical College and Hospital.
