Satish Kumar Sivalingam won the third gold medal for India in the men’s 77 kg title at the ongoing Commonwealth Games, he won the gold medal with a total of 317 kg at the Carrara sports arena today.
The 25-year-old from Vellore is also an employee with Southern Railway in Chennai. He had previously won in the similar category at Glasgow in 2014. Though he did help India to its third gold medal at the Commonwealth Games, his performance was slightly short of what he had achieved in the 20th edition of the games.
India, now has a tally of three gold medals and a silver and a bronze medal as of now.
