A one day public meet on Mass Extra Judicial Execution in Manipur was held in Imphal today. The meet was jointly organised by Extra Execution Victims Family Association Manipur and Human Rights Alert in Manipur.

The one day public meet was also attended by eminent political leaders, leaders from various civil society organisation and members of ‘Extra Execution Victims Family Association Manipur’.

Addressing the gathering Renu Takhellambam, President of EEVFAM said that recognising the facts, Supreme Court is now directly monitoring the large number of fake encounter killings, out of which some cases are being re-investigated by CBI’s SIT under the supervision of NHRC.

Speaking on the occasion, Babloo Loitongbam, the Executive Director Human Rights Alert, appealed to the victims’ family present that they should not be content with the compensation money, but be patient and brave enough to struggle till the end that so that justice is delivered.

After the public meet, a rally was taken out from Kuki Inn till Chief Minister’s secretariat office at Babupara in Imphal and a three charter of demand memorandum was submitted.
