Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma called on President Ram Nath Kovind and other Union ministers in New Delhi and apprised them about the new welfare initiatives of the state
Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma called on President Ram Nath Kovind and other Union ministers in New Delhi and apprised them about the new welfare initiatives of the state government.
Kovind expressed his desire to visit Meghalaya soon and asked Sangma to ensure effective monitoring and implementation of Central schemes in the state.
Sangma also met external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj, minister for road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari, minister of state for home affairs Kiren Rijiju and Minister of State for Power R K Singh.
The Meghalaya CM sought Gadkari’s intervention on road connectivity between Bangladesh and Meghalaya, and the Union minister assured that the issue would be taken up in the North East chief minister’s Meet to be held in New Delhi on May 4.
The chief minister was accompanied by his brother and cabinet minister James Sangma.
