All activities in the century old Indian Oil Corporation Limited owned Digboi refinery in upper Assam’s Tinsukia district came to a grinding halt on monday morning following heavy economic blockade imposed by Brihattar Aikya Mancha, a conglomerate of various organisations in support of various demands.

The organisations have alleged that the company has adopted a anti-local appointment policy due to which local educated youths are being deprived to get appointed in the refinery.
