The final figures of the 2018 rhino census at the Kaziranga National Park is out.

According to the latest figures, the total rhino count in the world heritage site stands at 2413, a mere increase of 12 rhinos from 2401 figured out during the 2015 census.

Principal chief conservator of forests NK Basu disclosed that incomplete burning of grasslands is making it difficult for the forest officials to spot the rhinos thus hampering the rhino census, for which the rhino census would be re-conducted in 2019.
