The annual Myoko Festival in Ziro, Arunachal Pradesh nears conclusion, celebrations are seen with traditional fervor.
The 10-days-long festival is celebrated on a rotational basis by three different tribes namely Diibo-Hija, Hari-Bulla and Hong of the Apatani tribe of the state.
The most important member of their community known as Shaman donned in traditional clothes worship the sun and moon. It means they believe that all non-human natural things such as plants, thunder, animals, rock, etc and have spirits which can influence human events.
The shamans of the village also recite prayers that last for hours. This festival is one of the most important ones for the community because of their age-old belief that non-human things have divine power.
