The top investigation agency (NIA) on Sunday arrested three Nagaland Government officials for their alleged involvement in illegal extortion of tax from various government organisations, on behalf of the banned
The top investigation agency (NIA) on Sunday arrested three Nagaland Government officials for their alleged involvement in illegal extortion of tax from various government organisations, on behalf of the banned insurgent outfit NSCN-K.
The arrested officials included a Director of the department of Agriculture, an Executive Engineer of the department of Rural Developmemt and a Divisional Accounts Officer of the Department of Urban Development.
The arrested officials faces charges of providing substantial amount to NSCN-K by way of contributing Government funds to the banned outfit in their official capacity.
The NIA had earlier summoned former Nagalang chief minister TR Zeliang twice, earlier this month in relation to an NIA probe into payoffs to NSCN-K by government departments in Nagaland.
