The unusual happened in the Tripura State Assembly on Friday. During the state’s assembly session, the national anthem was played for the first time.

Tripura, which had been a left bastion for 25 long years, had never witnessed such a practice in the past.

However, this gesture in the newly elected governments assembly session only goes to prove that Chalo Paltai is no longer merely a slogan.

While speaking to NE LIVE, Tripura CM Biplab Deb said that the national anthem being played in a state’s assembly session was a common practice and should have been done earlier in Tripura.
