In a fresh development to the hunger strike of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) students across the country, in response to the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) tasking a serious note of the agitation, the agitating students have temporarily called off the hunger strike but would continue to protest till their demands are made.

Meanwhile, the Ministry on Thursday called one member from each of the students committees from all the TISS campuses to be a part of the proposed joint committee looking into the matter.

Protests erupted throughout all the campuses of Tata Institute of Social Science after the authority decided to remove the student aids for the marginalized students last year due to lack of funds.
