Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, arrived at the Rashtrapati Bhawan early on Friday morning to meet his Indian counterpart.
Trudeau, who is on a one week visit to India, received a Guard of Honor before he met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The bilateral talks between the two leaders will focus on trade, defence, civil nuclear co-operation, space, climate change and education. The talks will also focus on counter-terrorism measures and will try to address India’s concerns over Sikh radicalism in Canada.
Delegation level talks will also be held, with a number of agreements expected to be signed in several areas after the talks. Trudeau is also expected to meet President Ram Nath Kovind and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.
