SFI, DYFI Demand Resignation Of Union Education Minister Over NEET Paper Leak Scam

Around 1000 government schools have been closed in Tripura after BJP came to power in the state, 107 of which have been closed during Dr Manik Saha’s tenure as the chief minister. This was alleged by Mayukh Biswas, generak secretary of Student Federation of India.

The Student Federation of India and Democratic Youth Federation of India today staged a protest rally in Agartala in support of their various demands, including the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the recent NEET paper leak.

Speaking to the media, Biswas alleged that around 961 government schools were closed when Biplab Kumar Deb was the chief minister of the state.

Tearing into the BJP-led state government, Biswas alleged that the education and employment sectors had been severely hit in the state after the saffron party came into power.

“BJP’s double-engine government has harmed the state more than making things better. Around 107 government schools have been closed in the state during Dr Manik Saha’s tenure so far, while around 961 schools were closed when Biplab Kumar Deb was the chief minister. There is a lack of teachers in the state, and owing to the lack of employment opportunities, several youths have been forced to move out of the state in search of jobs. Today, Tripura has the highest rate of unemployment in the country,” Biswas alleged.

Demanding the immediate reopening of shut-down government schools, Biswas also urged the government to provide scholarships to financially weak students.

Biswas also alleged that the state government needs more vision when it comes to employing the state’s youth.

Stating that substance abuse is on the rise in Tripura, Biswas urged the state government to take stringent measures for curbing drug abuse.

Meanwhile, lashing out at the Centre for the cancellation of several national-level examinations, SFI general secretary Mayukh Biswas alleged that under the BJP’s rule, there had been over 70 paper leak incidents in the last 10 years, which have pushed the students’ future into darkness.

Training guns at the central government after the NEET examination was recently canceled, Biswas demanded the immediate scrapping of the National Testing Agency and the immediate resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
